Artwork rental: art within everyone’s reach

What if you could change your surroundings every three months? Artwork rental is a service we are considering for ARTsynonyme, but it is not currently available on the platform. Here is the concept and why it interests us.

Coming later: this service is not currently active on ARTsynonyme. This article presents an idea under consideration, not an offer available today.

Why rent an artwork?

For professionals
  • Enhance offices, waiting rooms and reception areas
  • Refresh your décor easily
  • A possible tax deduction, subject to applicable law
  • A sense of prestige and authenticity
For individuals
  • Try an artwork at home before buying it
  • Change your style with the seasons
  • Access art without a major investment
  • Discover new artists regularly

How it could work

If this service is launched, the idea would be as follows, for illustration only:

  1. Choose an artwork offered for rent by its artist
  2. Agree the duration and terms directly with the artist
  3. Receive the artwork under the arrangements agreed with the artist
  4. At the end of the period, renew, buy or return the artwork, always by agreement with the artist

As with a sale, ARTsynonyme would take no part in payment or delivery: the rental would remain a direct agreement between the artwork’s owner and the renter, with the same precautions as for a purchase. See our FAQ.
