General questions
ARTsynonyme is an online platform that connects artists directly with art collectors. We provide artists with a professional space to exhibit and sell their work, and give collectors easy access to thousands of original artworks.
Registration and use of the ARTsynonyme showcase are free for collectors, galleries and artists. Artist registration is open to everyone; each showcase is verified by the administration before publication.
You can contact us through our contact form or by email at support@artsynonyme.com. Our team replies within 24 business hours.
After signing in, open My profile to edit your name, photo and contact details. Artists and galleries can enter their professional information there. Location visibility settings are available under Preferences > Location. Collectors can save their phone number and delivery address directly in My profile.
Your exact address, phone number and SIRET number remain private by default. Only information you explicitly authorise, such as your city or region, may appear on your public profile. Once a professional account has been verified, any change to its SIRET number must be requested from ARTsynonyme support.

For artists
Artist registration is open to everyone. Create your account from the registration page, introduce your artistic approach and submit at least three photos of your work. A website, portfolio or Instagram link is recommended but optional.
Your private showcase is created immediately so that you can complete it. The administration verifies the registration and the submitted photos before making it public. This verification helps prevent fraud and abusive registrations; it is not an artistic selection. You are informed by email as soon as your showcase is published.

The showcase currently allows artists to present their artworks without a commercial quota. You can manage them under Gallery / showcase.
When adding or editing an artwork under Gallery / showcase, choose its presentation mode:
- Showcase presents the artwork publicly without offering it for sale or rental. Its artistic information remains visible, but its price, stock and purchase or rental buttons are hidden.
- Sale / rental makes the artwork commercially available. A sale price and stock must be entered. You may also offer it for rental and specify the monthly price, security deposit and minimum term.
No. ARTsynonyme is a free showcase website and charges no commission on sales concluded directly between users. This applies both to artists and to galleries presenting their artists’ work.
However, if an artist is also represented by a gallery outside ARTsynonyme, that representation agreement, including any related commission, remains between the artist and the gallery. ARTsynonyme neither intervenes in nor replaces that agreement.
So how does ARTsynonyme sustain itself? Through the optional paid subscription plans for artists and galleries (extra visibility, tools, storage…), never through a cut of your sales.

To maximise your visibility, use high-quality photos, complete your profile with a detailed biography, add rich descriptions to your artworks, use relevant keywords and regularly update your gallery with new work.

For galleries
A gallery account provides a public professional profile and its own catalogue. Under My artworks, you can present works owned or represented by the gallery and identify the artist. You can also publish the gallery’s exhibitions and openings under My events.
My artworks contains works published and managed directly by the gallery account. My artists is the gallery’s public roster: it links the gallery to artists who already have an active ARTsynonyme account. Adding an artist to the roster does not transfer or duplicate their artworks, and does not give the gallery permission to edit their personal catalogue.
Open Manage my activity > My artists and enter the email address used by the artist for their active ARTsynonyme account. The artist receives an invitation and remains free to accept or decline it. Once accepted, the relationship appears in the gallery’s roster. The artist retains full ownership and control of their work. You may remove an artist from the roster at any time; the number of represented artists depends on your gallery plan.
Purchase or rental requests appear under Sell and communicate > Orders. The gallery accepts or declines each request, then arranges payment, security deposit where applicable, insurance, delivery or collection directly with the collector. Conversations are available under Messages and can be archived or deleted. ARTsynonyme does not process artwork payments and charges no commission on sales.
The gallery account includes a dashboard and the regional agenda, then four main groups: Present my gallery (profile, artworks and events), Exchange (messages and favourites received), Manage my activity (artists, statistics and history), and My account (profile and preferences).
The current showcase provides galleries with unrestricted access to artwork publication and artist management.
For collectors
Once signed in, browse our catalogue and select the artwork that interests you. Contact the artist directly through the messaging service to ask questions and negotiate the terms. The sale, payment and delivery are then arranged directly between you and the artist, outside the platform.
No. ARTsynonyme is a showcase website and does not process payments. If you reach an agreement after contacting an artist or gallery, payment and delivery are arranged directly between you, outside the website. Remain cautious, use secure methods and report any suspicious behaviour.
Delivery is arranged directly between you and the artist after the purchase. You can choose home delivery, with additional costs depending on the size of the artwork, or collect it in person if you are in the artist’s region.
Yes. Under the French Consumer Code, if you purchase an artwork from a professional seller on the platform, you have a statutory 14-day period from receipt of the artwork in which to withdraw. As ARTsynonyme is not a party to the transaction, you must exercise this right and arrange the return directly with the artist or gallery concerned, according to the terms agreed with them.
The relevant artworks are marked “Rental”. In your single basket, each item is clearly identified as a purchase or rental. The request is then accepted or refused by the artist or gallery, who arranges payment, the security deposit, insurance and handover of the artwork directly with you.
While it is being rented, the artwork may remain available for sale. The renter is notified when another collector wishes to buy it and has a 48-hour priority purchase period. If the renter buys the artwork, 100% of the rent actually paid is deducted from the sale price displayed at the start of the rental, up to that price. The security deposit remains separate and is not deducted.
