“INSPIRATION emanates from light”
“Born in 1964 in Seine-et-Marne and drawn to Brittany since childhood, he moved there in 2003. Self-taught, his artistic background has grown and flourished over the years, fueled by a formidable appetite for learning. Whenever possible, he visits every exhibition, museum, and gallery he can find.
Having not followed a traditional art school path, his technique was forged through direct visual immersion. His ‘appetite for learning’ within museums frees him from the constraints of academic rules.
Characterized by extreme sensitivity, his work is both unsettling and paradoxical, deeply rooted in experimentation and research. His influences are numerous and openly embraced, easily evoking Soulages, Asse, Lee Bae, Tal Coat, Doucet, Rebeyrolle, and so many others...
From time to time, he willingly dabbles in a subtle, non-violent form of provocation.
‘Inspiration emanates from intersecting lights encountered during contemplative walks. They are numerous, and at times, one willingly gets lost in them; it is only once they are placed on the palette that they play with memory—provided one knows how to truly look!’”
