In a few words
To see what is there, and then something more. Like a dance, she lets the gesture flow, seeking to share this momentum that invents itself in the very process of creation. Without trying to represent reality, she apprehends it by giving substance to this breath—to what is invisible, to the minute, the unspeakable. Lines and colors respond to one another, finding a balance, and at times, an intimate coherence.

Biography
Florence Barbeau has always sketched and kept her eyes wide open.
After several journeys overseas, she settled in the Gulf of Morbihan in 1997.
In her artistic exploration, she mixes various techniques, including drawing, painting, collage, and photography.
Her work is intuitive.
Instinctive sketches and observational drawings are intertwined with textures, words, or music.
Her focus is then on exploring movement, the energy or fragility of the stroke, the sensuality or tension of the line, and the softness or dissonance of colors.
She grants the public access to the creative process itself, with all its surprises, accidents, and pentimenti... inviting them to take part, to follow the gesture, and to lose themselves in reverie.
Among her deepest inspirations are the joy of creation found in Matisse, the beauty of nature, the power of Tribal Arts, dance, the momentum of Fabienne Verdier, the vitality of line in Abstract Expressionists, and the pure presence of Christian Bobin...
